WHAT CAN I HELP WITH?

People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons.  Life is full of challenges, hardships and ups and downs.  Part of the human condition is to suffer.

Whatever you are going through or struggling with you do not have to go through it alone.

I can help you to cope with your pain and suffering, even find meaning in it, and move forward with hope and purpose.  I know this to be true from my own personal experience of having therapy, and I have had the privilege to witness this with all my clients.

Maybe you have been struggling for a long time, you may feel lost, alone, stuck, or unhappy with your life in general.  Or perhaps you are suffering with anxiety and (or) depression, low self-esteem, confidence or stress and burnout.

You may not understand why you feel, think, or behave the way you do which can be confusing and deeply unsettling.  I can help you to make sense of and uncover the root cause of your difficulties, which in and of itself can be healing and enable you to make the necessary changes to begin living a more healthy, balanced and fulfilling life.

You may be seeking therapy for something specific that has happened to you such as trauma, or a bereavement, or the loss of a relationship.  Maybe you are going through a major life transition such as divorce, retirement or menopause, or the loss of a job or the loss of your health, which can lead to a loss of identity and purpose, and leave you with questions such as:  "Who am I?", "Who have I been?", and, "Where am I going?"

Perhaps you are newly diagnosed with autism or ADHD.  As someone with both professional and personal experience of working with Neurodiversity, it is important to me that I provide an environment that is neurodiversity-affirming.

I have a particular interest in working with individuals struggling with chronic ill health.  My aim is to support individuals to not only come to terms with whatever they may be suffering from but also to better understand and manage their health, and well-being.

Whatever it is that brings you to therapy, whether you wish to gain clarity on your issue's, change old patterns, untangle complex personal issue's, or embark on a journey of self-discovery and development, then therapy can really help you.

I can offer you a safe, confidential and genuinely warm, and non-judgemental, supportive space, where you will be truly seenheard and understood

"When I have been listened to and when I have been heard, I am able to re-perceive my world in a new way and to go on.  It is astonishing how elements that seem insoluble become insoluble when someone listens..."

~ Carl Rogers

I appreciate and understand completely that It’s not always easy to talk openly and honestly about our true feelings, or reveal the parts of us that we don’t like or fear, this can make us feel vulnerable.  But please know that I will be with you every step of the way on your journey, lovingly as your guide, and provide you with a space that feels sacred, and where you are free to talk about anything.

"Trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness."

~ Peter Levine

I believe that we do not heal in silence or separateness.  When we give voice to our wounds and suffering we open the door to healing.  Through our suffering we can attain resilience, wisdom and compassion.  In my own suffering I have found many beautiful life lessons and virtues, such as - determination, courage, humility and hope.

"Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes."

~Carl Jung
